Modeling chocolate that only involves two ingredients? Only takes a few minutes to make? Can be dyed any color you need? Tastes better than fondant? Basically a perfect solution to dessert decorating!
I wanted to learn how to make my own modeling chocolate when making these ninja turtle cake pop masks, because I needed just a small amount of four different colors. Buying four different colors in a store would have blown my budget. Here is the recipe to do it yourself, and save a ton of money!

supply list:
- 8 ounces of white chocolate candy melts or white chocolate chips. I use Stover & Company Sweet Shoppe Ultra White melting wafers.
- 1/4 cup light corn syrup
step-by-step:
- Melt 8 ounces (half a pound) of white chocolate candy melts or white chocolate chips. Do not overheat. Let this cool for a few minutes.
- Add 1/4 cup of light corn syrup to white chocolate, and stir continuously. Within 30 seconds, this will combine together and form a ball.
- Put this modeling chocolate ball on saran wrap, flattening slightly, and wrap tightly.
- Leave modeling chocolate on counter to come to room temperature overnight.
Modeling chocolate with harden up over time. Simply knead the dough in your hands and it will quickly soften and become easy to use once again!
Need your modeling chocolate a certain color? Simply add food coloring, one drop at a time, until getting your desired shade!
